CANINE CRUISER
In 2010, Canine Castaways raised enough funds to purchase and renovate a motor home to become a mobile adoption unit that we call the "Canine Cruiser". This has enabled us to take more dogs to community events, increase our rate of adoptions and ultimately, rescue more dogs from harmful situations.  We get lots of attention thanks to the incredible wrap job done on the "Canine Cruiser" by Gary at Wrap Your Ride. Our annual sponsorships fund the actual operating expenses including fuel, insurance and maintenance. BUCKY'S NEW LEASH ON LIFE
I was whisked away to their vet and received a complete physical. I had a makeover to remove the severely matted fur that was making it hard to walk. They began working on my behavior. My shyness combined with high energy made me a challenge, but after weeks of work, I learned how to be a balanced dog. The day finally came and I was ready for adoption. I had an appointment with a potential adopter named Dennis Walters. Dennis spent two hours with me trying to determine if I was the right dog for him. He needed more than a companion, he needed a service dog. I passed his tests with flying colors. Thanks to the time spent with Canine Castaways, I was given a new leash on life. Now, I am not only a certified service dog and the opening act of The Dennis Walters Golf Show, I am also an adoption ambassador. I have traveled all over the world and met famous people. Every where we go, we spread the message about the benefits of rescue and adoption! *The photo above was taken at one of the most iconic spots in golf, the Swilcan Bridge in St. Andrews, Scotland. Bucky's photo was shown on the Golf Channel, Golf Digest.com and Golfweek Magazine. He's certainly moving up in the world!
